Many of us that follow the 5 2 diet likes to start the day with a big chunk of porridge. So here is my perfect 5 2 diet breakfast porridge recipe. It’s so delicious and keeps the hunger away. What’s best with porridge, is that it is possible to vary indefinitely. Top with fruit, nuts or cook with spices such as vanilla and cinnamon or eat with any kind milk such as soy or almond. In this porridge recipe, I have boosted the porridge with vitamin C toppings in the form of kiwi and grapefruit. Healthy and tasty but also beautiful to look at!
C vitamin boosted porridge recipe – 5 2 diet breakfast
1 cup rolled oats (about 80 grams of finished porridge, 67 Kcal/100 g ) – 54 calories
2 cups water
1 pinch salt
2 pinches of cinnamon
1 Kiwi ( 50 g) – 34 kcal
1 Grapefruit (100 g) – 36 kcal
= 124 kcal
First cook the oats with water, salt and cinnamon. Cinnamon has a strong positive effect on our metabolism which allows the body to burn more fat.
2nd Peel and chop the kiwi and grapefruit into nice small pieces.
3rd Pour into a nice bowl , sprinkle over the fruit and add 1 cup of milk if you want some extra calories.
